IFIP Vice President and Chair of the International Professional Practice Partnership (IP3)), Moira de Roche, was invited to speak at the Computer Society of Zimbabwe Summit, held at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
The Summit theme was “Rethinking the Future: Leveraging on Emerging Technologies”. It was an impressive event, with many thought-provoking presentations and various opportunities to network over social activities. Moira was especially impressed that CSZ listed IFIP membership as a membership benefit for their members.
Her presentation, “Relevance of IT Professionalism in Support of Organisational Governance”, provided delegates with an overview of IP3, an explanation of what a Professional is, and how employing ICT Professionals supports governance, especially IT Governance, in any organisation.
It is interesting that so many aspects of good governance are so closely aligned with the essential qualities of any IT professional, including ethical conduct, duty of care, trust and accountability.
The presentation was well received and can be viewed here.
