After elections in June 2022, the IFIP WG 2.7/13.4 (UI Engineering) has appointed a new team of officials.

The new Chair is Davide Spano, a Professor at the University of Cagliari, Italy. His research interests are eXtended Reality, End User Development and Gesture Interfaces. He teaches an introductory course on HCI and an advanced course on User Interface Technologies in the Computer Science Degree at the University of Cagliari.

Anke Dittmar is the new Vice-Chair. She is a Substitute Professor at the University of Rostock She has been a long-time educator in software engineering, human-computer interaction, and interaction design. Her research interests include user-centred design methods, design representations such as user interface specifications or task models, collaborative design activities, and empirical studies of artefact use.

The new Secretary is Sophie Dupuy-Chessa. She is a Professor at the University Grenoble-Alpes and the Head of the Computer Science department at the Grenoble Technical Institute. Her research interest concerns emotions and their use for user interface evaluation and adaptation. She teaches an introductory course on HCI and follows student projects for the HCI part of the Technological Bachelor at Univ. Grenoble Alpes.

The IFIP Working Group (WG) 2.7/13.4 on User Interface Engineering aims to advance state-of-the-art in all aspects of designing, developing and evaluating interactive computing systems with a particular focus on principled, methodological engineering approaches. The scope of investigation comprises, among others, methods and tools for modelling, prototyping, developing and evaluating user interfaces (UI), quality models for interactive systems and new interface technologies suitable to improve user interaction.
