In 2023, the German Informatics Society (GI) is breaking new ground for its annual conference to make it more compact, more lively and more diverse, and is currently seeking ideas for workshops.

INFORMATIK 2023 will take place in a new hybrid festival format for three days from 27-29 September 2023 at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences.

“Designing Futures: Designing Futures” is the guiding theme of INFORMATIK 2023, which will focus on the design of digital technologies and information systems and their power to shape societal, cultural, social and economic processes. The major social and economic challenges such as decarbonisation or demographic change can only be met with the help of digitisation. The design and configuration of the technologies play a central role in this. Questions regarding the sustainable design of digital technologies themselves will also be at the centre of INFORMATIK 2023.

In addition to contributions on the main topic, GI traditionally invites submissions for workshops on other topics that are currently receiving special attention in science, practice and society. These include, for example, Data Literacy and Data Science, Internet of Everything and Industry 4.0, Secure and Dependable Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Driving and Mobility, Quantum Computing, Digital Health, Green Coding, Robotics, Software Engineering, Ethics in Digitisation and Computer Science Didactics.

Workshops can be full or half-day. The conference management will take care of the premises for each workshop, according to the duration and the expected number of participants. INFORMATIK 2023 will be organised as a hybrid event in order to offer an interesting program to virtual participants.

The workshop contributions will be published in the proceedings of INFORMATIK 2023 in the LNI series. Conference languages will be German and English.
