IFIP congratulates Dr Thomas Mück on being elected President of the Austrian Computer Society.

Thomas Mück is Deputy Director General of AUVA, the Austrian Workers’ Compensation Board, where he has worked since 2014. He has previously held senior roles at the Social Insurance Institution for Commercial Economics (SVA) and the Austrian Economic Chamber organization.

Mr Mück originally studied business informatics followed by a doctorate in social and economic sciences at the University of Vienna, where he continued to work until 2001, most recently as head of the Institute for Computer Science and Business Informatics.  

In addition to his management tasks in the administration of public corporations, he is still scientifically active, currently as a university professor for digitization in medicine at the Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna.

Mr Mück took over from long-standing President DI Wilfried Seyruck.
