The 5th IFIP Internet of Things (IoT) Conference will be held in Amsterdam on 27-28 October 2022.

With a theme of “IoT through a Multidisciplinary Perspective”, the event is dedicated to IoT research, innovations and application and will continue to focus on the multidisciplinary nature of the IoT world.

IFIP IoT 2022 is organised by the IFIP Domain Committee on IoT, which currently includes representation from eight of the IFIP Technical Committees. This year’s event covers a wide range of topics, from communication network protocols and embedded systems to data analytics and machine learning algorithms, while also considering social, legal, ethical, and economic aspects, with the objective of enabling a vast array of services in areas like e-health, mobility, energy, manufacturing, smart cities, and agriculture, etc. IoT deployment must also consider the security, privacy and social aspects of networking, which should be fully investigated to ensure added value for IoT users.

The 20 peer reviewed papers in the 2022 edition are clustered in the following themes:

  • IoT for Smart Villages
  • Security and Safety
  • Smart Home
  • Development, Engineering, Machine Learning
  • Applications

The conference features two keynote speakers:

  • Professor Michael Beigl of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany who will talk about “Wearable computing”; and
  • Professor Sandro Etalle from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands speaking on “The Internet of Secure Things”.

A panel session will address the relationship between AI and the IoT. What is, what can be and what should be the impact of AI on the Internet of Things? How do we need to enhance IoT security, reliability and efficiency?
