The Informatics Association of Serbia (IAS) was recognised by the Government with a gold medal on Statehood Day (15th February) for its continued efforts in encouraging the spread of information technologies over the past 50 years.

IAS President, Nikola Marković, received the medal from the President of Serbia at a ceremony in the Presidency.

During its 50 years of activity, IAS has had a direct impact on local society, particularly through various measures to

  • improve protections against the latest forms of privacy threats, suppression of Internet and social media abuses, and
  • regulation of development of artificial intelligence applications.
