IFIP Working Group 9.2 (Social Accountability and Computing) is carrying out a survey: “Perceptions about Digital Interactions”.
This survey is part of a project aiming to develop criteria to determine how well the public is served when it meets computerised (digital) systems. It seeks to explore a range of factors related to the use of computerised systems such as functionality, efficiency and security, to help us evaluate what affects trust in digital systems, including the emerging AI platforms.
For this survey to be informative, we need as many participants as possible, and as much diversity, with worldwide participation across the range of users. This survey’s results will hopefully inform future research.
The survey should provide a host of information about digital systems, such as what are the factors of resistance, what mitigations can increase trust, and how does it vary between public sector and commercial applications. It will provide views regarding benefits vs. risks and the trade-offs between convenience and fairness, and automation and human control.
Everybody is invited to take part. Please share as widely as you can.
