SEARCC (South East Asian Regional Computer Confederation) is partnering with ACS (Australian Computer Society) to host the 2018 International Schools Software Competition (ISSC) in Brisbane, Australia at St John’s Anglican College.

SEARCC’s annual global software coding competition for school students, ISSC will bring together teams from several South East Asian countries to take part in the competition from 27-29 September 2018.

Each year the contest is held in a different country to provide students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the culture of their peers as they learn and network with each other. Participating students are the best in their country, having won through a series of challenging local and national competitions in order to be selected to represent their nation at the international level.

During the competition, students are presented with four different problems which they must solve in a team of three.

A trial competition is conducted the day before the event to ensure that all teams understand the format of the competition. It also provides a casual environment for teams to socialise with and learn from their peers.

SEARCC looks forward to another successful ISSC and we are excited to be hosting it in Australia this year.
