The IFIP Eighth International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Data Science (ICCIDS 2025) was held from 12-14 February 2025 in Chennai, India.
Sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the event was organized by Dr J. Bhuvana, Dr R. Priyadharsini, Dr S. Angel Deborah, Dr J. Anusha and Dr R. Swarnalakshmi. The conference inaugural on 13th February 2025 was presided over by Dr Magesh Chandramouli, Professor of Computer Graphics Technology at Purdue University Northwest and Fellow, Software Sustainability Institute, UK along with Dr S.Radha, the Principal and Dr T. T. Mirnalinee, the HoD, CSE. Their presence added immense value to the conference, setting an inspiring tone for the event.
The inaugural session also featured a special recorded speech by Prof Eunika Mercier-Laurent, Chair of IFIP TC12 (Artificial Intelligence). In her address, she emphasized the significance of IFIP’s global contributions to AI research, the role of TC12 in fostering innovation, and the importance of international collaborations in advancing computational intelligence. Her message further reinforced the prestige and international recognition of ICCIDS 2025.
The conference was further enriched by accommodating five Keynote speakers from reputed international universities:

- Dr Rita Singh, Associate Research Professor, Language Technologies Institute, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.
- Dr Carolyn Rosé, Professor, Language Technologies Institute and Human-Computer Interaction Institute, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.
- Dr Bhiksha Raj Ramakrishnan, Professor, Language Technologies Institute, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.
- Dr Şenol Pişkin, Professor, Istinye University, Istanbul, Turkey.
This year, ICCIDS 2025 received an overwhelming response with 317 paper submissions from various institutions and research organizations across India and abroad. After a rigorous review process, conducted by 146 expert reviewers from academia and industry, 93 papers were selected for presentation. These papers span across eight specialized tracks, ensuring that a diverse range of research domains. Each track was carefully curated to encourage meaningful discussions and innovative solutions to real-world challenges, covering key AI domains such as:
- Advancements in Computer Vision for real world applications
- Innovations in Computer Vision for Smart and Medical applications
- Advances in AI for Speech and Text
- AI for Quantum, Blockchain and secure smart applications
- Intelligent Vision for creative automation
- Computer Vision for Sustainable smart systems
- Transformative AI Solutions for Speech, Education and Healthcare
- Next Gen AI for sustainable systems
The accepted papers will be published by Springer in the AICT series, further reinforcing the quality and global reach of the research contributions.
Additionally, two pre-conference workshops were successfully conducted on February 12, 2025:
- 9th workshop on Text Analysis and Information Extraction & Retrieval (TIER 2025)
- 4th workshop on Image Video and Analysis (IVA 4.0).
These workshops provided hands-on training and insightful discussions, offering participants a deeper understanding of emerging technologies and their impact on education and research.
Overall, ICCIDS 2025 was an outstanding platform for innovation and collaboration, fostering insightful discussions on cutting-edge research and advancements.
