IFIP is excited to propose a new process for how members can collaboratively use IFIP’s social media platforms to promote your events more effectively. This initiative aims to increase visibility for your events while maintaining a consistent and professional presence across our platforms.

Proposed Process for Social Media Posts

To ensure your event is promoted effectively, here’s how the process will work:

Submit Your Event Details

  • Send information you want us to share directly to Andriy Medvedyuk via email at andriy.medvedyuk@ifip.org.
  • Your Submission should include:
    • The event name and key details (e.g., date, time, location, contact information).
    • A short description or text to accompany the post (e.g., registration deadlines, call for papers, #hashtags, @mentions, contact information).
  • Please ensure all details are accurate and current to help minimize the risk of sharing outdated information.

Multiple Posts are Welcome:

  • To ensure your event remains visible throughout the year, we encourage organizers to submit content for up to five posts per event. These can be spread out over time to maximize reach and engagement. For example:
    • An announcement post when registration opens.
    • A reminder post about deadlines.
    • A post highlighting special speaker or sessions.
    • A final push as the event date approaches.
    • A post celebrating the event’s success or thanking participants afterward.

Approval and Posting

  • Only events that are fully registered and approved in the IFIP Event Management System (EMS) will be promoted. If your event is not yet registered, feel free to reach out to Andriy and he will guide you through the registration process.
  • Posts will be made once per week on all IFIP social media platforms to maintain a steady and consistent presence.
  • Submissions received during the week will be scheduled for the next weekly post. This ensures regularity and avoids over-posting on any given day.

What you Can Expect

  • Each post will go live accordingly to a consistent schedule (e.g., every Tuesday)
  • Your event details will be shared with a broad audience across our platforms, helping you reach potential participants and supporters.

Why This Matters

This process allows IFIP to maintain an organized, consistent and professional presence while supporting event organizers to achieve maximum outreach. By contributing your event information, you ensure its visibility to a global audience through IFIP’s growing online platforms.

If you have any questions or suggestions – please do not hesitate to reach out. Andriy will do everything he can to partner with you in making your event a success!
