The latest issue of IFIP Select is now available, featuring three research-based papers that explore how technology can address significant professional and societal challenges.
Volume 4, Issue 1 examines humanitarian information practices, the use of AI and text analysis in ICT4D projects, and user-centred approaches to designing interactive systems for launch vehicle flight safety operations.
Created to extend the reach and impact of research conducted within IFIP’s Technical Committees and Working Groups, IFIP Select is designed to make that research more useful to the IT professionals who apply it.
Rather than simply republishing research papers, the electronic journal asks authors to explain the practical contribution of their work. This helps readers understand how research findings can be applied in professional practice and influence the development and use of ICT.
Research featured in the new issue
The three papers featured in Volume 4, Issue 1 are:
- Bridging Information Practices and the Ethics of Care: A Mission Statement for Humanitarian Practitioners, which explores how information practices can be understood through humanitarian perspectives.
- An AI-Based Approach to Implementing Text Analysis in ICT4D Projects, examining the use of AI and text analysis in ICT for development projects.
- Multi-Variant UCD: A Process for the Design of Interactive System Variants: Application to Launch Vehicles Flight Safety Operations, which presents an approach to designing interactive systems with users’ needs at the centre.
