This month saw the election of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the ITPE Digital Competence Expert Group.

Rocco Defina of Oxys Consulting was elected Chair, succeeding Mary Cleary (who left to take the Chair of CEN Technical Committee 428). The Vice-Chair position of ITPE Digital Competence Expert Group was taken by Floor Scheffer of Tata Steel Europe.

ITPE is an initiative of the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS) aimed at bringing together organisations that are interested in and committed to furthering IT professionalism in Europe. The Digital Competence Expert Group will promote best practice in IT professionalism, providing information and promoting the wide variety of tools, services and certifications that contribute to managing IT staff.

The new Chair, Milan-based Rocco Defina is a management consultant, mainly in the areas of organisational design and improvement, transformation consulting, people management and competency design. He has managed several projects related to the European effort to foster IT professionalism and is a co-author of the first European ICT Foundational Body Of Knowledge.

Rocco is a Member of AICA’s Steering Council, having been elected as the association’s Auditor in December 2018. He also collaborates with Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and EY; he founded Oxys Consulting, a business consultancy startup, set as “the non-technological partner for the digital transformation”.
