Some of the world’s greatest experts in Human Computer-Interaction (HCI) will gather in Mumbai in September for INTERACT 2017, the 16th Conference of IFIP Technical Committee 13.

Hosted by the Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay from 25-29 September, the multi-faceted event will include two days of pre-conference workshops, field trips, a symposium on HCI Research in Asia and a doctoral consortium.

The main conference, from September 27-29, features keynotes and invited talks, full and short papers, case studies, industry presentations, panels, posters, demos, installations, student design consortium, student research consortium and a lot of interaction.

There will also be seven highly practical courses by experts which will run in 80- or 160-minute slots parallel to the conference.

This year, conference organisers have paid special attention to attracting students and people from developing countries. Already, the conference has a large number of registrations from these two groups and even more are expected.

The conference also offers a great social programme including a freshies night for first-time participants in INTERACT, a Dandia night (a local festival of dance in Mumbai), a conference dinner and local tours of Mumbai.
