IFIP has successfully re-established its consultative status with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). This development was officially approved during the 53rd session of UNIDO’s Industrial Development Board, marking an important milestone in IFIP’s engagement with the broader UN system.
This renewed status reinforces IFIP’s commitment to supporting international cooperation in advancing sustainable industrial development through digital transformation, innovation, and responsible computing. Notably, IFIP has already been an active participant in UNIDO’s AIM Global platform, which fosters multi-stakeholder collaboration around industrial modernisation, technology-driven solutions and inclusive innovation.
With this consultative status in place, IFIP Member Societies, Technical Committees and Working Groups are strongly encouraged to explore new avenues for collaboration with UNIDO and other UN agencies. This is a strategic opportunity to align technical expertise with global development goals and to strengthen IFIP’s mission of advancing the ICT field for the benefit of humanity.
Let us seize this achievement to deepen our collective engagement and contribute meaningfully to global policy dialogues, capacity building and implementing digital solutions for sustainable development.
