IFIP is involved in a record seven events at this week’s WSIS (World Summit for the Information Society) Forum in Geneva.
IFIP has contributed to WSIS over many years, gaining formal recognition as a “Supporting Partner”. WSIS is co-organised by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, UNCTAD and the Swiss Confederation.
On Monday, IFIP President Anthony Wong welcomed the ITU Secretary General Doreen Bogdan-Martin and UN dignitaries to the IFIP booth. Also shown are Joice Benza, Paul Haskell-Dowland and Moira De Roche.
This year’s events include:
- IP3 session “Re” Generative AI – Using Artificial and Human Intelligence in tandem for innovation” on Tuesday 28 May 2024.
- IFIP President invited to participate in the UNESCO “WSIS Action Line C3: Guaranteeing the online space for all” panel discussion on the evolution of access to information in the past 20 year on 29 May 2024.
- TC11 event “Building confidence and security in connected IT systems” on 29 May 2024.
- IFIP President invited to participate in the UNESCO panel on “The Future of AI in the Judiciary” on 29 May 2024.
- TC12 panel discussion on “Synergy Human-AI for complex problem-solving” on 30 May 2024.
- IFIP President invited to participate in the UNESCO panel WSIS Action Line C7 “E-science: Assessment of progress made over the last 20 years” on 30 May 2024.
- TC12 Chair consultation on the revision of “UNESCO’s Internet Universality Indicators” on 31 May 2024.
