At the IFIP Networking 2026 Conference, held in Lugano, Switzerland, both established and early-career researchers had the opportunity to hear from Anatolii Marushchak, General Secretary of IFIP, about the organisation that has helped represent the global professional ICT community for more than six decades.
The presentation was delivered during the 25th edition of the Networking conference, sponsored by IFIP TC6 and IEEE ComSoc. Networking 2026 brought together academic and industry experts to discuss the latest advances in communication networks and the future Internet, with this year’s theme focused on “AI-Driven Autonomous Networking”.
The presentation also highlights IFIP’s growing role in shaping global discussions on digital technologies, including its recent intervention at the United Nations, where IFIP contributed its voice to advocate for important policy conversations related to the digital sphere.
Most importantly, the talk encourages students, early-career researchers and technology professionals to become involved in IFIP’s global activities. One of the easiest ways to engage with the IFIP community is by joining a member society in your country that is also a member of IFIP.
