On 23 July 2026, IFIP General Secretary Anatolii Marushchak welcomed Ronaldo A. Ferreira, Brazil’s National Representative to IFIP from Sociedade Brasileira de Computação (SBC), to IFIP Headquarters for a productive and engaging meeting.
The conversation reflected on Brazil’s long history within IFIP, dating back to 1964, and reaffirmed the many benefits that IFIP membership brings to national member societies. It also explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the organisation of IFIP events and further enhance collaboration across the global IFIP community.
In his role as an IFIP Councillor, Ronaldo also shared valuable insights and practical advice on the operations of the IFIP Secretariat. His experience and perspective were greatly appreciated and will help support the Secretariat’s ongoing work.
We sincerely thank Ronaldo for taking the time to visit the IFIP office during his trip to Vienna for the IETF meeting and encourage other IFIP colleagues to do the same whenever the opportunity arises. In addition to meeting with the Secretariat, visitors can explore the IFIP archives, including an impressive collection of historical publications, some dating back to 1965, such as the volume shown in the accompanying photograph. Together, these materials provide a fascinating insight into IFIP’s rich history and the evolution of the global IFIP community over the past six decades.
