In research, what happened 12 years ago might seem like a century.
Back in October 2013, PRO-VE 2013, the 14th IFIP WG 5.5 Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises took place in Dresden, Germany. Its topic was Collaborative Systems for Reindustrialisation.
How forward-looking or even prophetic that topic was when considered through the lens of the COVID pandemic. Our degree of success in how we coped with this challenge is still an open question for many.
The Biomedical Informatics Institute of the University Hospital Cologne is one of the partners in the Horizon Europe project Shift-Hub that has built and operates a ‘Smart Health Innovation & Future Technologies Hub’.
Bringing together stakeholders to collaborate on the future development of smart health innovations may offer opportunities to examine and explore new, yet untested ways for reindustrialisation that we badly need.
The project offers the opportunity in its last mile for research and innovation actors to get connected to the platform and become members of the emerging Pan-European network for smart health solutions.
