Being an IFIP Member Society means becoming part of a truly global network of ICT professionals, researchers, educators and practitioners. Beyond international recognition, membership provides numerous practical opportunities that help societies strengthen their activities, increase the visibility of their members and expand their international reach.

Below is an overview of some of the key benefits available to all IFIP Member Societies.

Professional and Conference Benefits

Individual members of IFIP Member Societies receive a minimum 10 per cent discount on registration fees for all IFIP-approved events.

Each year, IFIP supports between 60 and 100 international conferences, workshops and other scientific events, providing members with opportunities to present their work, exchange ideas with experts from around the world, establish new collaborations and stay informed about the latest technology developments.

International Representation and Visibility

Membership in IFIP enables representatives of Member Societies to actively participate in IFIP Technical Committees, Working Groups, conferences and governance activities.

These international activities provide valuable professional recognition, foster collaboration across borders, and create opportunities to influence the future direction of research and technology within the global ICT community. Participation also helps build long-lasting professional networks and strengthens the international profile of both individual experts and their Member Society.

Access to IP3 Accreditation

Through IFIP membership, societies may apply for accreditation through the International Professional Practice Partnership (IP3).

IP3 promotes internationally recognised standards of ICT professionalism and supports professional certification programs that demonstrate excellence, ethics and competence within the ICT profession.

More information about IP3 is available here.

Engagement with International Institutions

IFIP maintains consultative relationships with a variety of international organisations.

These relationships create opportunities for Member Societies and their representatives to participate in advisory activities, contribute to international initiatives, receive nominations for prestigious awards and gain recognition for their achievements within the worldwide ICT community.

Open Access Publishing through the IFIP Digital Library

Member Societies also benefit from publishing opportunities within the IFIP Digital Library.

A dedicated Member Society publications section allows conference proceedings, journals, technical reports and other publications to be published in Open Access at the modest cost of €10 per uploaded file (either per paper or per volume).

Publishing through the IFIP Digital Library significantly increases the visibility, accessibility and long-term preservation of research outputs, ensuring they are available to researchers worldwide.
