CIPS, Canada’s Association of Information Technology Professionals and IFIP’s Member Society in Canada, has appointed Sabina Posadziejewski as its new Chief Executive Officer.
A CIPS member since 1986 and holder of the I.S.P. designation since 1989, Sabina brings more than 40 years of ICT leadership experience spanning Canada, the United States and Europe. Her career has included senior leadership roles in government, digital transformation, governance, professional development and organisational excellence. In 2025, she was recognised as a CIPS Fellow, the association’s highest honour.
Accepting the appointment, Sabina said she was honoured to lead the organisation and looked forward to working with members, volunteers, provincial societies and partners to strengthen the profession across Canada.
“Together we will expand professional development opportunities, bring people together through more online and in-person events, build new partnerships, and strengthen the voice and impact of CIPS across Canada,” she said.
Sabina has held senior IT leadership positions with both the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada, leading major digital transformation initiatives, developing governance and service delivery frameworks, and supporting technology services across Western and Northern Canada.
She has also played an active role within CIPS over many years, serving in provincial and national leadership positions, contributing to accreditation activities and supporting the development of the I.S.P. designation. Most recently, she managed the CIPS Alberta ICT Mentorship Program for Immigrants, helping newcomers build professional networks and establish careers in Canada’s technology sector.
As CEO, Sabina will focus on growing membership, strengthening partnerships, expanding professional development opportunities and increasing the value CIPS provides to members. Her appointment reflects the association’s continuing commitment to supporting professionalism and leadership within Canada’s ICT community.
