The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has reached a significant milestone with the recruitment and finalisation of its refreshed Technical Committees.

Bringing together more than 80 experts from industry and academia, the renewed committees are designed to strengthen ACS’s role as a national thought leader. They will contribute to shaping public discourse, leading critical conversations, and providing expert advice to government and industry on emerging technologies and their societal impact.

The newly established committees cover key areas of strategic importance:

  • AI in Society
  • AI Technology Advancement
  • Data Sharing
  • Cyber Security
  • Block Chain
  • IT Governance
  • IT Educators

This refreshed structure sharpens ACS’s alignment with IFIP, of which ACS is an active member. By strengthening these connections, ACS reinforces its contribution to global discussions while ensuring Australian perspectives are well represented.

The initiative reflects a coordinated effort led by Jarred Arnold and the ACS Management Committee, whose work has been instrumental in mobilising this forward-looking advisory network.

With this foundation in place, the Technical Committees are well positioned to drive innovation, influence policy, and support the responsible development and application of technology across Australia.
