SEARCC (South East Asian Computer Confederation) will host an APEC Project Workshop when it stages its EXCO meeting in Beijing, China in May.

The project workshop will focus on SEARCC’s work in co-ordinating the development of projects to address the key strategic objectives of the Asia Pacific Economic Community (APEC) which has been established by APEC’s Telecommunications Working Group (APECTEL).

Amongst the initial projects is an ambitious goal to develop and promote a Common ICT Skills Recognition Framework within the Asia-Pacific Region.

The EXCO meeting will be held separately from the workshop on 14th May and will be attended by representatives from Australia, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, China, the Republic of Korea and Papua New Guinea.
