IFIP President Mike Hinchey and IP3 Vice Chair Stephen Ibaraki were both highly visible at the Financial Service Roundtable’s inaugural FinTech Ideas Festival (FSR FIF) in San Francisco from 9-10 January 2017.

The event brought together world leaders at the CEO level in financial services and technology, exploring big ideas such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Thing, Big Data, tomorrow’s workforce, financial inclusion, biometrics, cybersecurity and more.

Industry luminaries such as Google’s Chief Internet Evangelist Vint Cert, Wells Fargo CEO Tim Sloane, IBM President and CEO Ginni Rometty, Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella all took to the stage to share their insights, along with numerous other leaders.

The first and largest CEO invitation-only summit with the top 200 CEOs and leaders from the financial services, fintech and technology sectors, FSR FIF was the subject of a live broadcast by CNBC which attracted 350 million viewers globally.

IFIP was well represented at the event with Mike Hinchey and two colleagues from the Global Industry Council – Frits Bussemaker and Andy Chen – each leading three salons to discuss different issues.

Stephen Ibaraki, who Chairs the FSR Technology Advisory Council, was also Chair of the FinTech Ideas Festival and moderated various sessions throughout the event as well as participating in key sessions, such as the Futurists salon discussion that kicked off Day 2.
