Thought leaders from across the ICT industry and profession will gather in Colombo, Sri Lanka in September for the combined National IT Conference, SEARCC Conference and IFIP General Assembly.

Hosted by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), the combined event will bring more than 75 international experts from 50 different countries to Colombo, joining an anticipated 1,000 Sri Lankan ICT practitioners, policy-makers, researchers and academics for several days of presentations and meetings.

As Sri Lanka’s biggest international ICT event, NITC has also attracted support from other industry bodies such as IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).

The conference is being organised under the leadership of CSSL President Yasas V. Abeywickrama and Conference Chairman Prabath Samindra Wickramaratne. It is supported by a broad set of industry and academic representatives.

ICT researchers and academia wanting to submit academic papers based on their studies can do so by 31 May. See Further details about the submission can be obtained from the NITC website.

The National IT Conference theme this year is ‘Towards Digital Prosperity’, with presentations following eight tracks:

  • Chief Information Officers;
  • Digital Inclusion;
  • e-X (e-Healthcare, e-Education, e-Tourism, e-Services);
  • Digital Media and Broadcasting;
  • Internet of Things (IOT) & Internet of Everything (IOE);
  • Mobile Apps;
  • Digital Security; and
  • Future Organisations.

Papers presented to the conference will also be published on the IEEE Xplore Digital Library platform, a vast resource of scientific and technical content published by the IEEE and its partners.

The National IT Conference of Sri Lanka will have a professional as well as an academic mix to it with speakers from industry as well as from academia.
